Health On May 15, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued a Level 2 (Practice Enhanced Precautions) Travel Health Notice for Ebola for the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). On May 17, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the Ebola outbreak in the DRC and Uganda a Public Health Emergency of International Concern . Crime There is an increased risk of crime in Rwanda. This includes petty crime like pickpocketing or purse snatching, as well as violent crime like mugging, armed robbery, or assault. Unrest Armed groups, individuals, and military forces often clash in nearby countries. The ongoing violence in these areas has the risk of spilling over into Rwanda. Do not travel within 10 kilometers of Rwanda’s border with the Democratic Republic of the Congo due to unrest .
